They will be able to identify the difference between an object and the material from which it is made. Throughout the unit, they will be helping Blot, an alien from the Plant Glog, who does not know anything about materials. Children will group and sort different materials based on their properties. They will also have the opportunity to investigate different materials to see which material
would be best to make an umbrella and curtains.

Home Schooling
Take your time and have fun.
A couple of quality hours throughout the day (20/30 minute sessions) is more than enough. They don't need to be sat at a table working for 5 hours.
Learning is fun and isn't always about sitting down at a table. Lego, playdough and toys all hold educational value.
There are plenty of free educational apps to use on ipads/tablets etc.
Enjoy getting outside. Wrap up warm and enjoy a little or big walk. Getting outside will help.
Do what you can! A little of something will always be better than nothing. Remember if its not working, stop and have a break!
Worksheets: If we do attach a worksheet to a lesson, please do not feel you have to print it out. the worksheet may be just a guide or an example on how to set out the activity. Also we will be providing exercise books so the children can write their answers in there.
